Like a Rolling Stone

The year was 1965. I was thirteen years old. A friend's mom offered to chaperone five teenagers to the Arie Crown Theater in Chicago. A new band from England was playing. It wasn't the Beatles or my personal favorite, Herman's Hermits. It was the now iconic Rolling Stones with frontman Mick Jagger and his microphone gyrating across the stage. I must admit my thirteen-year-old self did not know what to make of him. My seventy-one-year-old self, however, can barely believe I saw them when they were just getting started and that I would still be listening to their music decades later.

I was delighted that Mick Jagger was interviewed on a recent Sunday Morning show. I watched and listened intently to everything he said.  This is what I heard. The Stones cut a new album. It is their first album in eighteen years. The 12 songs are all original songs. They will miss their friend and iconic drummer, Charlie Watts, yet life continues, and they must continue to create. They are going on tour in 2024. Mick does not want to stop creating, performing, and reinventing himself long enough to write a memoir. He implied someone else could do it when he was gone.

"Hmmm", I thought. Has he considered hiring a ghostwriter? I would never think I could be his ghostwriter in a gazillion years. Yet, I don't want to take time out of my busy life  is the same dilemma many people and some of my clients face.

Many of us have funny and poignant stories to tell, legacies to leave, businesses to grow, wisdom to impart, and messages to get out. Many of us procrastinate, make excuses, don't know where to start, don't know how to start, don't have the time or talent, are afraid that what we write will not be welcomed, and so on and on.

This is where a ghostwriter can help if you can relate to this or have been waiting for the right time. It is your story to tell, your legacy to leave, and your business to grow. Don't hesitate any longer.  Ghostwriters can help you achieve a dream and tell whatever story you wish. People have extraordinary tales to tell. The assistance of a ghostwriter can transform these stories into captivating narratives that entertain, inspire, and educate.

So, I thank Mick Jagger for being inspired to continue his creative journey. I might go the extra mile in 2024 and make sure I see the Rolling Stones not just for nostalgia but because they are heroes of mine as they continue to roll into their next decade.
